Set up FunnelBridge for first-time use

Motivation

FunnelBridge must be connected to both your Recruitee account and a WhatsApp phone number (via WhatsApp Cloud API) at the start of operation. This process only needs to be carried out once. During the trial, you can use one of our test phone numbers or link your own right away. If you only want to use the bot, you can skip points 5 and 6.

Requirments

  • You have the rights to create API tokens and access webhooks in your Recruitee account

  • Optional: Your own phone number that is not already used for WhatsApp and a Facebook / Meta account.

1. Generate and store a Recruitee API token

After you click “Start setup”, you will be asked to enter the company ID of your Recruitee account and generate an API token and submit it as well:

  1. There you can create an API token by clicking on ‘+ New token’ at the top right.

  2. Next you can add a name for the token, such as ‘FunnelBridge Messaging’ and create it.

  3. Next, you will receive a verification code to your e-mail address in order to activate the token.

  4. Now you can copy your company ID and the API token.

2. Add your privacy policy

After you have successfully deposited the API token, our setup wizard will automatically connect your Recruitee career site. It will also recognize the privacy policy page stored there. If you have not stored a page there, you can now store a different URL. Your applicants will then have to confirm this privacy policy once at the start of the WhatsApp chat:

3. Add your Recruitee webhook secret

You will now be asked to enter your Recruitee webhook client key:

You can access it via Recruitee > Settings> Webhooks:

4. Select a phone number

In the next step, the wizard will ask you to either use a phone number provided by us or to enter your own phone number:

  • We offer both 🇩🇪 German and 🇳🇱 Dutch test numbers. You can also use these in other countries regardless of your location.

  • Alternatively, you can also use your own telephone number during the trial. We explain how you can do this in these instructions.

5. Select default message template

If you also want to test FunnelBridge Messaging, you will now be asked to create a default message template. We have already created one for you by default. You can customize it directly or later if required. After this has been checked and verified by Meta, you can continue with the configuration (takes approx. 1 minute):

6. Install the browser extension

To be able to send WhatsApp messages directly from Recruitee, you need to install the FunnelBridge extension for your browser (Chrome; Firefox; Edge):

Once you have installed the extension, you can now click on the blue button. Our setup wizard will automatically generate a token for you, which you must store in the browser extension:

Once you have added the token to your extension, click on “Continue” to complete the setup.

Congratulations 🥳: You have now successfully configured FunnelBridge and can start communicating with your candidates via WhatsApp.
