With WhatsApp message templates, you can send structured messages to your applicants using pre-created and approved templates. This is necessary if WhatsApp conversations with your applicants are inactive for more than 24 hours. You can also use these templates later if you want to send automated WhatsApp messages. You can also create simple message templates directly in FunnelBridge. However, if you want to create more complex templates including placeholders and graphics, you must do this via Meta's Whatspp Manager. If you are using a test number from us, this is not possible.

1. In FunnelBridge, go to Settings > Message templates. Next, click “Go to Meta Business Manager”:

2. You will now be redirected to your Business Manager account. Now click on “Create template” to create a completely new template or select an existing one to edit it:

3. Next you need to select what kind of template you want to create. We recommend selecting Utility as the appropriate category:

4. After you have clicked on “Next”, you can start editing the message template:

  • First, give the template a suitable name and select the appropriate language.

  • Header: Optionally compose a title or select which media type you would like to use for this header.

  • Text: Enter the message text in the selected language. You can edit the text format and add emojis and other variables. If you want to use placeholders, you must add a variable for each one. You can define these placeholders later in FunnelBridge when creating automatic messages.

  • Footer: Optionally add a short line of text below your message template.

  • Buttons: Optionally select buttons from the drop-down menu that applicants can use to reply to your message or take action:

    • Call-to-action: Create a maximum of two buttons that your customers can use to take action. You can choose between Call phone number and Go to website. This allows you to add a phone number or website URL to the message. If you have opted for the CTA Go to website, you can choose between the Static and Dynamic options for your website URLs. The latter allows you to create personalized links using variables at the end of the URL so that the applicant can access their specific information on your website.

    • Quick reply: Create up to three buttons for your applicants to reply to your message.

    5. If you are satisfied with the design and content of the message template, you can submit it for review:

Your template will now be submitted for review by Meta. You can track the corresponding status under Message templates. As soon as your message template has been approved, you can use it in FunnelBridge. If a message template has been rejected according to the status, you can edit the message template again and reapply for approval.

Next, you can use this message template to send automated WhatsApp messages 🚀
